Indian Martini


We have been in lockdown in Melbourne since March 2020

One of the things that has kept me sane and that I have enjoyed immensely through lockdown is walking.

Most afternoons, I walk past a Indian restaurant called ‘Bombay by night’. The aromas coming from this restaurant are amazing.

Tonight I decided to order some and the delivery will be arriving soon.

In preparation for this, I infused some gin with Indian inspired flavours to create this delicious martini.

I also want to acknowledge the sudden passing of Australian Cricket legend Dean Jones in India yesterday. Dean is one of my favourite cricketers as of all time, and I will never forget the time I saw him score 134 at the Gabba in Brisbane. Taken too soon. My thoughts are with his family.

I used:
60ml Gin infused with homegrown curry leaf, homemade relish, turmeric, chilli flakes and lime zest
30ml Dry Vermouth
Dash of fresh lime juice
Ice

Garnish is homegrown curry leaf
