‘Gooseberry Margarita, or is it?’
I went to the fresh food @dandenongmarket on the weekend to get some supplies and I came across what I thought/think were gooseberries
When I tried one, it was so friggin sour I couldn’t even eat it!
So I made a syrup using 1/2 cup gooseberries, 1 cup water and 2 tablespoons organic stevia. The syrup wasn’t too tart, it really tasted a bit like pear syrup?
I mixed it up into a margarita:
45ml Pura Vida silver tequila
15ml Cointreau
30ml lime juice
30ml unsweetened pineapple
30ml gooseberry syrup .
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice until combined. Double strain into your favourite cocktail glass
Garnish is extra gooseberries, pineapple fronds and edible flowers from @theleafstore .
