The year 2016 marked the 30th anniversary of the epic film Out of Africa, the adaptation of the eponymous Karen Blixen’s memoir, in which the hotel featured.

The cast stayed at the hotel during the filming of this African epic, which starred Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.
