Pisco, the National Spirit of Peru. Pisco is just so rich in history and tradition.
I am so lucky to have recently met with Josie from @thepiscopeople I absolutely loved and really enjoyed a masterclass & the opportunity to taste test this amazing spirit.. (I know, I know, I have the best job in the world 🤗)
Pisco is a flavourful grape based spirit that is technically classified as a brandy however Peruvian Pisco differs from other brandies as it is not aged in oak barrels, meaning all the flavour comes from the grape itself instead of the wood. Pisco is also closely related to Grappa, but it differs because it is made from the first pressing of the grape juice rather than with the leftovers of wine production.
I have created my first Pisco creation after a fantastic suggestion from @federica.marcaccini .
Here is my recipe: .
60mls Cuatro G’S Quebranta Pisco*
45mls Lime Juice
60mls Ginger Beer
30mls Homemade Sage & honey syrup**
Garnish with fresh Sage .
Result: I can’t even begin to tell you how crisp, refreshing and absolutely delicious this is!
*The oldest and most commonly produced style of Pisco in Peru
**Sage and Honey Syrup created with 1/2 cup Water, 5 sage leaves and 2 tablespoons of Manuka Honey.
Salud!!!
