Anzac Day 2018

ANZAC DAY 2018 .

Anzac Day is arguably one of Australia’s most important national occasions. .

It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. .

Today is the 100th Anniversary of an intense battle fought just north of the village of Villers-Bretonneux, France. Throughout early April, in 1918, Australian units helped defend Villers-Bretonneux from this onslaught. .

Today also marks the 103rd anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli.

My cocktail today is an Australian 🇦🇺 French 🇫🇷 Negroni

Recipe:
30mls @giniversity Australian Gin (from Western Australia)
30mls @pampellerubyred (France)
30mls Sweet Vermouth
Garnish is rosemary (Traditionally, sprigs of rosemary are worn on Anzac Day and sometimes on Remembrance Day, and are usually handed out by Legacy and the RSL. Rosemary has particular significance for Australians, as it is found growing wild on the Gallipoli peninsula)

Information Gathered from The Australian War Memorial and DVA
