International Scotch Day 2018

My Insta Buddy Fede @welcometomybar let us all know that today is International Scotch 🥃 Day.

Because I don’t normally create cocktails with Scotch, Whisky or Whiskey 🥃 , I had to do a little research. I found out that the main difference between scotch and whisky is geographic. It also comes down to the ingredients and spellings. Scotch is whisky made in Scotland, while bourbon is whiskey traditionally made in the U.S.A.

So I went to @mr_margarita_mum liquor cupboard and found some @limeburnerswhisky Single Malt Whisky. I phoned Limeburners in the Margaret River (Western Australia) and they informed me that their Whisky is made the Scottish way but not aged in barrels in Scotland for 3 years and this is why Scotch cannot be included in their name.

So this recipe may be controversial for #internationalscotchday but hey, why not stir up your thoughts?

I poured @limeburnerswhisky , @domainedecanton ginger Liqueur and a dash of @fevertreeaustralia ginger ale over an ice sphere and served with an orange twist

Salud!
